Coastal Condo Project

We are so excited to reveal our latest project, The Coastal Condo!

This adorable one bedroom + one bathroom had never been updated and screamed 1974. We loved the location – just two miles from the beach in beautiful Carlsbad, California. There was enormous potential to update the kitchen and bath along with a few other things (new carpet, new paint throughout, all new electrical outlets, and some beachy vibe staging furniture and decor to set the mood).

The decor was based around this moody coastal art over the couch, but the updates we did to the kitchen and bath were well thought out. We wanted to update this adorable condo so it was just trendy enough, but not too trendy. We opted for subway tile, open shelving over the kitchen sink, bold floor tile in the bathroom, shiplap, vintage inspired lighting, and cabinetry that was relevant and on-trend.

Here is look at the kitchen… we love the subway tile and open shelving! We added a built in microwave to free up the counter space, because in a small kitchen every inch of counter space is valuable realty!

Although this is a 1 bed/1 bath condo, we wanted to stage it so a potential buyer could envision a beautiful hutch in the dining room to add storage. How beautiful is this Magnolia buffet and hutch from Living Spaces?

The bathroom turned out just how we dreamed it would! We love the floor tile, and we actually installed this same Della Torre Cementina tile from Lowe’s Home Improvement, in our own kid’s bathroom (in the black and white– just a tad more bold!).

We only needed to paint and replace the carpet in the bedroom. However, the beachy coastal vibe from the staging furniture and decor are totally reminiscent of the cozy, laid back beach life here in Carlsbad.

The patio would not be complete without some lovely furniture from Target…. this nest egg chair is the most comfortable and darling chair EVER! HERE is a similar Opalhouse nest egg chair.

This was such a fun project and sold within just a few days of being on the market. We can’t wait for the new owner to move in and enjoy this beautiful space and all Carlsbad has to offer.

Here are a few before and afters…

xoxo Melodee
